Air By-Pass Around Pleated FiltersStop wasting money now! Dont tolerate problems any longer.Problem: HVAC pleated air filters are made approximately 1/2 to 5/8 inch undersize, resulting in a full inch gap between filters in a side-access system.Even if pleated filters are forced down the track and a vertical foam or metal spacer is added at the door, the variation in paperboard filter frame construction typically allows enough space to slide 2 or 3 business cards between pleated filters. Following the path of least resistance, a substantial amount of particle-laden-air travels through the space between pleated filters. This unfiltered air leaves particle deposits on coils or quickly loads downstream filters. The result is higher energy costs, cleaning coils more frequently, or shortened life of expensive downstream filters. | ||||||
All air must go through the Pleat Killer filter. By-pass around the sides, between filters is impossible. |
