HVAC Filtration Innovations Change Air Filter Industry

Every few years a Fiber Bond innovation has so much impact, it changes the HVAC filtration industry.

1957 - Original Patent

The random dispersion of synthetic fibers forming an airlaid media bonded with flame-retarded binders.

1966 - Introduction of tackified media

“FP” series of tackified media improves performance and holds trapped dust in the filter.

1977 - First high performance synthetic media

Dual-Ply Dustlok® provides progressive density depth loading.  An adhesive throughout the entire final layer absorbs and locks-in dust particles.

1983 - Introduction of heat seal pocket construction

Permanently fused perimeter edge and internal seals eliminate holes from stitching and provide leak-proof performance.

1987 - The use of antimicrobials in air filtration

Spor-Ax® antimicrobial agent effectively controls the growth of mold, mildew, algae and fungi on filters.

1990 - First U.L. Class 1 synthetic filter

Multi-Wedge 85 and Multi-Wedge 95 filters meet the strict requirements for Class 1 rating as set forth in U.L. Standard 900.

1996 - First pleat without wire

Kleen Pleat Gold high performance self-supporting media requires no wire backing. Contains Spor-Ax® antimicrobial and Dustlok® adhesive.

2006 - Replacement to make pleated filters obsolete

First low-resistance MERV10 replacement for pleated filters that is impervious to moisture.

Solving problems since 1952.
